RFID hybrid cards are chip cards equipped with two or more chips. These cards can either feature a combination of different RFID antennas and chips, or contain both a contact chip and an RFID chip. It is important to note that they always consist of different types of chips.
These hybrid chip cards are often used when different systems need to be operated with a single card. A typical application example would be combining an older time recording system, which uses a contact reader, with a new access control system.
